Introduction

Rush University Medical Center is a 664-bed academic medical center located in Chicago. It is nationally and internationally known for many adult and pediatric specialties of care, areas of research, and extraordinary clinical team collaboration. Rush is consistently ranked among the US’s top hospitals in U.S. News & World Report and recently ranked among the top 5 in the US in a quality and accountability study of more than 100 academic medical centers. One of the nation’s most advanced hospitals, the Tower opened in 2012 and houses acute and critical care patients as well as technologically sophisticated surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Rush University, with an exclusive focus on the health sciences, shares the campus with Rush University Medical Center, allowing for unique integration of patient care, research and education. Physician, nurses, and other clinicians who provide care to patients at the Medical Center also teach at the university. Patient Services

Our dedicated International Health Services team coordinates all aspects of the patient and family visit to Rush to assure an exceptional experience. We have two suites to serve the distinct needs of our international patients. Some of our services include:

  • Coordinate medical, social, travel, accommodations, and financial needs
  • Act as liaisons with medical officials and physicians
  • Assist with visa arrangements
  • Provide interpreter services

  • Coordinate special dietary needs
  • Schedule medical consultations
  • Diagnostic tests
  • Hospital admission and outpatient care

  • Coordinate private-duty nursing
  • Rehabilitation and home health services before and after discharge
  • Access to business equipment, such as computers, fax, and copiers

Our medical staff of more than 800 represents virtually every specialty and subspecialty of care. Known for extraordinary collaboration, physicians at Rush bring to patients the value of many minds by working in teams. Our outstanding teams also include highly trained nurses. Rush has achieved Magnet status four consecutive times. Additionally, Rush offers interpreter services in 200 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL).

International Solutions

Rush University provides health care management and leadership training globally. Ranked 5th in healthcare management, training involves both education onsite to immerse the leaders in US healthcare management as well as education at the home organization. Additionally, Rush physicians also engage in visiting physician programs and on-site observation.
