International Appointment Office – Before patients arrive, the International Appointment Office can assist with scheduling the patient’s initial appointments, provide information about visa requirements, and explain how patients can submit medical records from outside facilities.
International Patient Coordinators – Patients can meet with an international patient coordinator to help manage their care plan, move up appointments, and facilitate communication between the patient’s medical team and an embassy. Bilingual coordinators are available to help embassy-sponsored patients (both inpatient and outpatient), self-pay, and insured patients from all over the world.
Language Services – Patients can request an interpreter and send documents for translation; the Language Services Department offers assistance in more than 20 different languages. Remote video interpreting is now offered in over 180 clinical areas at Mayo Clinic to assist the care team during appointments, exams, and surgeries.
International Pharmacy – The International Pharmacy team works closely with patients help obtain and understand the medications they are prescribed in addition to assistance with embassy and insurance coverage explanations.
International Financial Services – Mayo Clinic strives to provide timely, accurate, and concise billing services. A dedicated staff of international account representatives can assist patients and families with financial details before, during, and after their visit.
Concierge Services – Concierge Services assist patients with hotel and transportation needs, non-appointment activities available in each community, and connecting with the Patient Online Portal, Mayo Clinic app, banking, and cell phone services in each community.

Mayo Clinic International Visiting Administrator Program
The Mayo Clinic International Visiting Administrator Program is a three- to 12-month administrative and leadership development program for mid- to senior-level high-potential health care executives. The program shares best practices in leadership and integrated care that have made Mayo Clinic a worldwide leader in health care. Participants learn through observation, networking, shadowing, classes and hands-on experience while rotating through a number of administrative and clinical groups at Mayo Clinic. At the conclusion of the program, participants are expected to produce a set of recommendations that will create real and lasting business value in their home organizations.
Mayo Clinic International Leadership Development Program
The International Leadership Development Program shares best practices in leadership. The three-day program prepares emerging leaders for a competitive health care environment. Sessions include facilitated group discussions with Mayo Clinic leaders on a variety of leadership topics. Speakers share Mayo’s organizational concepts as well as resources that participants can leverage in their home organizations. Following the face-to-face meeting, participants continue to engage with team members as they work to complete a specified project and strengthen their leadership capabilities and skills.
Mayo Clinic Multinational Nurse Consulting Program
The Department of Nursing welcomes visits by nurses from around the world. Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, offers one- and two-week programs as well as two-day consultations. This program is observational in design and provides the nurse visitor with opportunities to discuss professional nursing issues, meet with nursing leaders and subject-matter experts, as well as observe patient care areas.
