Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Introduction

Founded in 1901, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is the oldest freestanding pediatric hospital in California and the first and largest in Southern California. CHLA serves as a major regional referral center for children who require life-saving acute care. Each year, the hospital provides more than 111,000 children with pediatric healthcare in a setting designed just for their needs.

CHLA is ranked in the top 10 of pediatric medical centers in the US and as the best children’s hospital in California for clinical excellence by US News & World Report. The publisher’s prestigious rankings also named CHLA to its exclusive Honor Roll for the eighth straight year since it was introduced in 2009.

With a history of pioneering new and minimally invasive techniques to help children heal faster, our physicians are renowned as world leaders in pediatric specialty medicine for their clinical, educational, and research programs alike. Using a multidisciplinary approach, physicians work in partnership with specially trained nurses and allied health professionals at CHLA to provide quality care.
