The International Patient Center at Boston Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive case coordination for international patients, from pre-arrival planning to post-discharge follow-up. Each family is assigned a dedicated case coordinator who serves as the family’s personal guide to the hospital and assists the family at every stage of care. Multilingual hospital orientation videos are also available through the hospital website.
International patients receive additional support through the International Medical Service (IMS), a group of consulting physicians who follow international patients through their journey at the hospital. The IMS physicians provide insight to the broader medical and administrative staff, improve continuity of care, fine-tune care coordination, and personalize the international family’s experience.
Boston Children’s Hospital provides interpreter services free of charge in a wide variety of languages. Interpreters on staff include Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Hebrew, and more. Interpreters for less common languages can be provided on request or contacted on short notice via live video.
