Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital provides some of the highest-quality pediatric care in the United States – in 2017, we were ranked by US News & World Report as the seventh-best children’s hospital in the country. Lurie Children’s Hospital was also awarded the Honor Roll designation for scoring in the top 10% in four specialties. We were one of 10 hospitals in the country to be given this special designation.

The Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, is the research arm of Lurie Children’s. The mission of Manne Research Institute is to generate new knowledge leading to advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect children’s health through adolescence and adulthood. Our multidisciplinary teams of physicians, scientists, technicians, nurses, and trainees are committed to making discoveries that will improve the lives of children and their families.

Lurie Children’s Hospital has established medical and surgical leadership that provides cutting-edge and thorough treatments for the most complex pediatric needs, including, but not limited to, brain tumors, cancer care, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, and transplant. We were the first pediatric hospital to implant the smaller version of the Total Artificial Heart in 2016. We have an active Spinraza program for the treatment of patients with spinal muscular atrophy and many more programs using the latest technology and medical advancements.

Our Care Team includes not only physicians, surgeons, and nurses, but also a wide range of support services, such as pediatric anesthesiologists, social workers, child life specialists, pharmacists, and clinical nutritionists. The inclusion of various expert perspectives on one team gives our patients the most comprehensive care possible.

Our partnership with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Pat and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, which are institutions focused on adult care, allows us to serve all of the needs of our international patients as well as their family members.
