Patient Services
IPS is an ongoing resource for families. They:
- Provide clinical intake and coordinate a full review of medical case with specialists
- Work with families to help them understand their financial obligations; IPS is a liaison with third party payers and insurers
- Facilitate the patient’s initial appointment and provide visa letters
- Provide information about lodging and accommodations
- Offer suggestions for places to worship, bank, shop, and dine
- Coordinate patients’ medical care, including follow-up appointments, procedures, equipment, and medications
- Prepare families to return home
- Provide copies of medical records, radiology imaging studies, and test results that occurred during treatment at CHOP
In addition to the advanced specialty services below, CHOP has world-leading medical expertise in cancer care, cardiology, genetics, neonatology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonary medicine, rehabilitation medicine, and urology.
Cancer Immunotherapy Program: CHOP doctors and researchers have developed the first clinical trials for an immunotherapy known as chimeric antigen receptor (“CAR”) T-Cell therapy for children with advanced acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Center of Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment: CHOP offers specialized care to mothers carrying fetuses with known birth defects who require fetal surgery and treatment before and/or after birth
Congenital Hyperinsulinism Center: CHOP treats children with medical and surgical congenital hyperinsulinism, caring for over 800 children and performing over 450 pancreatectomies
Center for Lymphatic Imaging and Interventions: CHOP experts developed the first advanced imaging and interventional technologies that map the anatomy of the lymphatic system to identify and manage chronic conditions using minimally invasive treatments
Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Annually, approximately 1,400 children with IBD travel from around the world to CHOP, where they receive the latest treatments and intensive support from our multidisciplinary team
Proton Therapy Center: This innovative form of radiation treatment allows for more conformed radiation doses delivered to cancerous tumors, which spares healthy tissue
