Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

The Bobst International Center is the international arm of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center, which has devoted more than 130 years to exceptional patient care, innovative research, and outstanding educational programs. Today, we are one of 45 National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, with state-of-the-art science flourishing side by side with clinical studies and treatment.

The close collaboration between our physicians and scientists is one of our unique strengths, enabling us to provide patients with the best care available as we work to discover more-effective strategies to prevent, control, and ultimately cure cancer in the future. Our education programs train future physicians and scientists, and the knowledge and experience they gain at Memorial Sloan Kettering has an impact on cancer treatment and biomedical research around the world.

Patient Services

The Bobst International Center has a multilingual team available to coordinate on-site consultations and treatment or arrange for one of our remote medical opinions, for patients who are unable to travel to New York City, but would like an opinion from one of our physician experts . Our remote services include a written second opinion referred to as a mail consultation, a video consultation between an MSK specialist and the patient’s treating physician, a second opinion pathology slide review or a review of radiology imaging. Our team remains available to assist with financial questions, help locate accommodations in New York City, and arrange translation services for medical records through preferred vendors. Interpreter services are available at all times for any patient either in-person or by telephone.

For the 27th year in a row, Memorial Sloan Kettering has been named the top hospital for cancer care in the Northeast and one of the top two hospitals in the United States for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. Our surgeons perform more cancer operations at Memorial Sloan Kettering than doctors at any other hospital in the United States. Because of their sole focus on cancer, our surgeons often use advanced surgical techniques that result in a better quality of life for patients. Our radiation oncologists are developing and putting into clinical practice leading-edge technologies and techniques in radiation therapy, and our medical oncologists are leaders in developing new chemotherapy drugs that are safer and more effective than standard therapies.
